Lavandin (Lavandula x intermedia)

Lavandin(Lavandula x intermedia) is a hybrid plant of English lavender and Portuguese lavender (Lavandula angustifolia with Lavandula latifolia). This type is the most fragrant lavender species. Blossoms have a limited spectrum around the blue, violet, or lilac.

  • The smell is strong, but “soapy”; it has herbal overtones (sometimes even minty) and a camphor undertone.
  • The spikes with the flowers tend to come in groups of three; each stem divides before the inflorescence.
