A concept drawn from Fereydun's counsel to his children in the second section of Jami's Baharestan. It develops the metaphor of the days of one's life as the pages of a notebook: because each day is a page of one's lifespan, a person should inscribe upon it nothing but the best of deeds and works. The blessed person is the one who, on this pure record, leaves only the mark of goodness and a good trace behind. The passage frames a lifetime as an ethical ledger and treats the pursuit of an enduring good name through virtuous action as the proper aim of living.
