Limitations of Projective Tests
Projective tests have several notable limitations. They are often more time-consuming for evaluators than self-report inventories. The validity of many of these tests is also considered questionable, which can make their findings inadmissible in legal settings. A significant issue is test bias, especially in cross-cultural assessments. Instruments developed based on data from a single culture may not accurately assess the personalities and lifestyles of individuals from different ethnic or cultural backgrounds.
