Limitations of the Study on GSAs and LGBT Youth Outcomes
Research investigating whether attending a high school with a gay-straight alliance (GSA) improves outcomes for LGBT youth has several limitations. The study's sample size was very small, predominantly white, and participants likely attended schools with an already positive climate. Furthermore, at-risk LGBT youth, such as those dropping out of high school, were not considered.
