Youth who went to a high-school with a GSA reported higher levels of school belonging than youth who did not go to a high-school with a GSA. Community climate was a predictor for school belonging.

Youth who went to a high school with a GSA endorsed more favorable outcomes to alcohol use. They also had less depression and general psychological distress.

The study's sample size was very small, predominantly white, and participants likely attended schools with an already positive climate. Furthermore, at-risk LGBT youth, such as those dropping out of high school, were not considered.
