Longitudinal Fissure

The longitudinal fissure is the deep, prominent groove that runs directly through the center of the brain's exterior surface. It visibly separates the brain into two distinct halves, known as the left and right hemispheres, amidst the surrounding ridges and depressions of the cerebral cortex.
