Maintenance Contract Exclusion Clause

A maintenance contract must clearly state what work is not included. Common exclusions are new circuit installation, code-upgrade work, appliance hookups, and emergency calls outside the agreement. Explicit exclusions prevent disputes when a customer assumes a covered visit includes additional work. The exclusion list also protects the contractor's margin by keeping each visit within the time and material budget that supports the flat-rate price.
