Mechanisms of Media Violence's Influence on Behavior

The influence of media violence on behavior is thought to operate through two primary psychological mechanisms. The first is observational learning, where individuals learn and may replicate aggressive actions they see. The second is desensitization, a process where repeated exposure to violence reduces emotional responsiveness, potentially making aggression seem more acceptable.
