Methods for retrospective review of elderly COVID-19 patients receiving either almodipine or nifedipine
- There were two groups, one group received either almodipine or nifedipine (24 patients in this group) and the other group did not receive the drug (41 patients in this group)
- All patients were managed by a clinical team and were administered antibiotics in addition to hdroxychloroquine upon patient consent and/or QTc prolongation status.
- Patient outcomes were examined for survival to discharge and leaving hospital against medical advice leading to expiration; need for intubation and mechanical ventaliation was also assessed
- Clinical comorbidities and demographic and clinical data were reviewed
