Midpoint Formula

The Midpoint Formula finds the point that lies exactly halfway between two endpoints (x1,y1)(x_1, y_1) and (x2,y2)(x_2, y_2) in the coordinate plane. The midpoint MM is:M = \left(\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2},\; \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2} ight)Each coordinate of the midpoint is the average (arithmetic mean) of the corresponding coordinates of the two endpoints. The xx-coordinate of the midpoint is the average of the two xx-values, and the yy-coordinate is the average of the two yy-values.
