Model Assumptions and Simplified Utility/MRS Calculation in the Browneville Model

In the Browneville model, the analytical process is greatly simplified due to two key assumptions: that citizens have quasi-linear preferences and that both wages (w) and environmental quality (E) are measured in dollars. The combination of these assumptions provides a straightforward method for measuring changes in utility and for calculating the citizens' Marginal Rate of Substitution (MRS).
