Mood disorders are a very common effect or symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury. Traumatic Brain Injury can onset these disorders or differing processes of mood through damages or deficits in cognitive and/or emotional processing. Variables like social support, genetics, life stressors, etc. can alter the level of severity of the mood disorder as well as the likelihood of the individual getting the disorder after TBI. Depressive disorders are the most commonly experienced disorders as a result of TBI.
