Non-Falsifiability of Freudian Theory

A major criticism of Sigmund Freud's theories is that many of his ideas are not falsifiable, meaning they cannot be disproven by empirical observations. For instance, it is impossible to conceive of any empirical observations that would disprove the existence of the id, the ego, and the superego—the three elements of personality described in Freud's theories.
