Number Line Interpretation of Inequalities

Inequality symbols have a direct geometric meaning on a number line. When a<ba < b, the point representing aa lies to the left of the point representing bb. Conversely, when a>ba > b, the point for aa lies to the right of the point for bb. This visual correspondence allows students to verify an inequality by locating both values on a number line and checking their relative positions.
