In the opening poem of the *Mokhtar Nameh*, Farid al-Din Attar emphasizes the absolute purity, holiness, and incomprehensibility of the Divine. He contrasts the infinite majesty of God with the extreme insignificance of the created universe and humanity, asserting that a hundred thousand worlds are merely a speck of dust, and a hundred thousand Adams are nothing but clay when compared to the divine presence.

Divine Sanctity and Cosmic Insignificance in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Poem 1)

ای پاکی تو منزه از هر پاکی	قدوسی تو، مقدس از ادراکی
O Purity, You are sanctified above all purity, You are the Holy One, sacred beyond human comprehension.
در راه تو، صد هزار عالم، گردی	در کوی تو، صد هزار آدم، خاکی
In Your path, a hundred thousand worlds are but a speck of dust, In Your lane, a hundred thousand Adams are but of clay.
