Objectivist, subjectivist, and interactionalist views of workplace aesthetics

Objectivism locates beauty in properties of an object, such as symmetry. Subjectivism treats beauty as dependent on each observer's preferences and taste. Interactionalism explains aesthetic appreciation through the relatedness between an observer and an object. In workplace design, these perspectives can complement one another rather than serving as mutually exclusive explanations of aesthetic experience.
