When a node is open, all of its parts are visible: the title, the content, and the toolbar with its action icons below the content. In this open state you can read the full node and use the toolbar's features. A closed or hidden node keeps some or all of these parts out of view until you open it again.

In the closed view, a node shows only its title, its open and hide buttons, and a few statistics in the toolbar at the bottom. After reading a node, it is recommended to close it before moving to another node on the map, because keeping many nodes open can make your device perform slower.

The header at the top right corner of the node has options to change your view of the map, such as:
- Collapsing
- Expanding
- Hiding
- Hiding offsprings

By clicking on the icon shown below on the top-right corner of the node, you can hide a node on the map. Hiding a node means that the node will not be displayed on the map, and you have to click on the children list of the parent to reopen that node.
