Optimal Time Allocation for a Developer

A software developer can spend her time either working on a freelance project, which earns her a fixed hourly rate, or contributing to an open-source project for which she receives no pay but derives great personal satisfaction. She has a limited number of hours available each week. Describe the condition that must be met for her to have found the optimal allocation of her time between the two activities. Explain why any other allocation of time would result in a lower overall level of satisfaction for her.
