Overestimation of Control in Higher Social Classes

Individuals from higher social classes, potentially bolstered by their greater sense of control, may be susceptible to overestimating their actual influence over certain outcomes. For instance, they tend to believe their individual vote has more impact on election results compared to the beliefs of those in lower social classes, a factor that may contribute to higher voter turnout in more affluent areas.
