Paraprofessional are given the instructional reading level of the child which is determined by a reading test given by the teacher (DRA). The Paraprofessional will then allow the child to pick books based on that level and conduct different interventions based on what that child needs to improve on.

Paraprofessional interventions involve providing targeted academic support to students, often by removing them from the general education classroom to work on specific skills, such as reading or mathematics. The primary goal of these interventions is to help students achieve grade-level proficiency in the targeted subjects.

A paraprofessional does not need a degree or certification they are under the direction of a teacher or certified professional.  Paraprofessionals assist teachers in a variety of ways. They can assist in classroom management, paperwork, and reviewing/teaching lessons. Parapros can spend time with students one-on-one or with small groups in order to focus on specific skills like reading or math. 

Paraprofessional 

Teachers and paraprofessionals have to work together in order to create a good learning environment for the students. Unfortunately, sometimes it is difficult for them to work collaboratively as they might both have different ways of teaching or ideas about their roles in the classroom. It's important that both the teacher and paraprofessional be on the same page in regard to their responsibilities and methods of teaching the students.
