Parental Chronic Illness and Children's Psychosocial Functioning (cont.)
On the contrary, some studies have found that children of a chronically ill parent may not always have a detrimental effect on children's psychosocial functioning. Research has suggested that children who did not experience adverse effects tend to develop more positive outcomes from the experience of parental illness due to the development of greater appreciation for life and a stronger sense of personal growth.
