Perceiving the Truth in the Part and the Whole in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Poem 80)

In Poem 80 of his Mokhtar Nameh, Farid al-Din Attar examines the metaphysical relationship between the part (juz') and the whole (kull). He asserts that the spiritually awakened eye recognizes the part as a derivation of the whole, and the whole as an emanation from the ultimate 'Whole of wholes' (kull-i kull). Attar concludes that true spiritual vision requires recognizing the Absolute Truth (Haqq) as the foundational reality of both the part and the whole, stating that one cannot see all things as the Truth until they have fundamentally perceived the Divine Truth itself.
