Physical Health Consequences of Lead Exposure

Lead is a potent neurotoxin that can cause severe and permanent physical health problems, particularly in children. Exposure can damage the brain and nervous system, leading to slowed growth, developmental delays, learning and behavior problems, and hearing and speech issues. In adults, lead exposure can cause cardiovascular effects, increased blood pressure, kidney damage, and reproductive problems.
