A collection of beliefs, rituals, and mythology originating in Ancient Greece. The Ancient Greek people were polytheistic, meaning they worshipped a pantheon of gods. Religion as a category did not really exist in the ancient world - but it was everywhere and everything was imbued with divine power; it was essential to keep the divine power happy. This was accomplished with ceremony, sacrifice and offerings.
