Post-Cognitive Stance in Psychology
DP adopts a post-cognitive or anti-cognitivist position, rejecting direct access to an individual's mind. Instead, it assumes people's memories, beliefs, and psychological states are always interactionally achieved through language use. This challenges traditional cognitivist orientations that identify mental states as internal, isolated systems. DP reframes psychological matters as always visible in language rather than hidden mental processes.
