In Chapter 2, Poem 3 of Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, the poet explores the paradox of the Prophet's supreme cosmic authority and his ultimate source of humility. Although the Prophet holds unparalleled rank, worth, and proximity to the Divine—described as being 'superior to both worlds'—his true boast is not in these exalted stations, but rather in his 'dervishhood' (spiritual poverty or faqr).

This reflects the famous tradition (Hadith) attributed to the Prophet: 'Al-faqr fakhri' (Poverty is my pride). Attar emphasizes that the peak of spiritual perfection is found in complete self-effacement ('drowned in selflessness') and absolute dependence on the Truth, rendering both worldly and other-worldly statuses secondary to humble devotion.
