Protecting Materials Kept in Service Vehicles

Materials stored in service trucks and vans are exposed to theft whenever the vehicle is left unattended at a job site or overnight. For that reason, tool boxes, cargo doors, and storage compartments should be locked whenever no one is with the vehicle. High-value supplies such as breakers, fittings, and copper cable are especially attractive targets, so limiting access helps reduce shrinkage. Strong security also supports accurate inventory and job-cost tracking, because missing materials can make stock counts and usage records unreliable.
