Steroid Dependent Biosynthesis

Also known as Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH) or Arginine Vasopressin (AVP), it is a neuroendocrine hormone/ neuropeptide which is produced in the hypothalamus and upon release, travels to the pituitary, post which it is released in the anterior pituitary for general circulation.

It has various functions, mainly water reabsorption in the kidneys and regulation of social behavior.

Onset of sexual maturation is the resultant of activation of the hypothalamo-pituitary gonadal development. 

Apart from the growth hormone secretions, steroid-dependent hormonal pathways that give rise to pubertal hormones such as estradiol and testosterone, aide in physical and behavioral changes.
