Quadratic Equation

A quadratic equation is a polynomial equation of degree two. Its general form is ax2+bx+c=0ax^2 + bx + c = 0, where aa, bb, and cc are real numbers and a0a \neq 0. If a=0a = 0, the squared term disappears and the equation is no longer quadratic. Examples of quadratic equations include x2+5x+6=0x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0, 3y2+4y=103y^2 + 4y = 10, 64u281=064u^2 - 81 = 0, and n(n+1)=42n(n + 1) = 42 (which simplifies to a degree two expression n2+n=42n^2 + n = 42).
