Rate and Speed Terminology in Uniform Motion

In uniform motion applications, the distance formula D=rtD = rt uses the term 'rate' for the variable rr. However, when discussing the motion of vehicles in everyday language, it is more common to use the term 'speed'. For mathematical problem-solving in these contexts, 'rate' and 'speed' describe the same constant quantity and are used interchangeably.
