Relationships Between Key Labor Market Indicators

The primary labor market indicators are mathematically related. The number of inactive individuals is calculated by subtracting the labor force from the population of working age. Similarly, the number of unemployed people is determined by subtracting the number of employed individuals from the total labor force.
