Research Bias Towards WEIRD Societies

A significant issue in psychological research is the over-reliance on participants from WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) societies. According to researchers like Henrich, Heine, and Norenzayan (2010), the findings from these studies are often incorrectly applied to non-WEIRD populations, creating a skewed and incomplete understanding of human psychology.
