Rumi's Allegory of the Worldly Army Attacking the Spiritual Fortress

In Book Four, Section 92 of the Masnavi, Rumi presents an allegory of the worldly or physical beings (jismāniyān) launching an attack on the fortress of the spiritual beings (rūḥāniyān). He suggests that when spiritual warriors neglect their inner divine struggle (ghazā), the worldly forces naturally encroach upon the spiritual domain, pushing toward the very boundary of the Unseen (ghayb). This illustrates the necessity of continuous spiritual vigilance to prevent the 'unbeliever' within from launching an attack.
