Running (Bacterial Movement)
During a run, the flagella of a bacterium rotate in a counterclockwise direction, allowing the cell to move forward. In peritrichous bacteria, this counterclockwise rotation causes the flagella to bundle together in a streamlined manner, resulting in efficient, linear movement.
