The Sabin Institute’s primary goal is to manufacture vaccines for NTDs that have been deprioritized or underfunded by national governments and pharmaceutical companies. Within the laboratory, Sabin researchers hope to understand the intricacies of parasites, viruses and bacteria to isolate vaccine antigens. The resulting technology is sent to contract organizations that will efficiently manufacture and distribute the vaccine. Sabin collaborates with public-sector vaccine manufacturers in Brazil, Mexico and other regions of Latin America.
