Sacrifice of the Self and the Transformation of Limbs into the Heart in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 10, Poem 24)

In this poem from Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 10, Poem 24), the poet describes the spiritual transformation that occurs when the ego or self (nafs) is sacrificed. Through this sacrifice, the entire physical and spiritual existence of the seeker is transformed into a singular unified heart (dil). Furthermore, Attar explains that each limb of the human body possesses a hidden jewel-like potential; if the seeker fails to elevate these physical elements and integrate them into the spiritual heart, they will degenerate into mere clay.
