In Section 26 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai delivers a sharp critique of the self-styled, hypocritical Sufis (khwish-sufi). He exposes their outward pretense of piety—such as wearing the dervish cloak (dalq-push) and engaging in ostentatious rituals—as a facade covering worldly greed, spiritual blindness, and ethical bankruptcy. By contrasting their outer claims of asceticism with their inner corruption and narrow-mindedness, Sanai warns seekers against the deception of these false spiritual guides, emphasizing that true Sufism requires genuine inner transformation rather than superficial religious performance.
