Sanai's Critique of Plagiarists in Section 8 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah

In Section 8 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai delivers a sharp satirical critique of literary plagiarists (manhulin). He depicts them as ignorant of the rules of prosody (arud) and poetic meters (such as hazaj or munsarih), yet boastful of their skills. Sanai describes how these plagiarists repeat a single stolen poem in front of commoners and merchants, begging for food and small favors, thereby degrading the noble art of poetry to a tool for mere begging (kadih).
