Scarcity in the Work-Leisure Model

In the context of work-leisure choices, scarcity arises because individuals have competing desires for both high levels of consumption and abundant free time. However, these two goods are linked by a constraint: earning more income to fund consumption requires sacrificing free time for work. Because an individual cannot simultaneously maximize both, they must make a choice, facing a trade-off due to this fundamental scarcity.
