Schizoaffective disorder bipolar type characteristics

Bipolar Disorder, also known as manic depression, affects around 5 million people today. Some key symptoms of bipolar disorder are episodes of mania (elevated mood, erratic behavior) and episodes of depression (low mood, fatigue, etc). When an individual has a manic episode, they undergo an "emotional high". Some feel excited, energized, and jumpy while others experience hallucinations and other symptoms of psychosis. When experiencing depressive episodes, the individual may feel "down" or even experience major depression. Depression and bipolar disorder are similar in some ways, but those with bipolar disorder have extreme ups and downs (as opposed to depression, where it tends to be a constant low state). Individuals with this type experience symptoms of both schizoprenia and bipolar disorder
