Schizophreniform Disorder: Specified With Good Prognostic Features

This specifier is applied if two or more of the following features have not been present: onset of obvious psychotic symptoms within 4 weeks of the first notable change in normal behavior or functioning; confusion or perplexity; good premorbid social and occupational functioning; no blunted or flat affect.

Schizophreniform Disorder: Specified Without Good Prognostic Factors

The presence of 3 or more of 12 psychomotor features in the diagnostic criteria for catatonia is associated with schizophreniform disorder and caused by another medical condition.

The essential feature of catatonia is the psychomotor disturbance (e.g. decreased motor activity).

Schizophreniform Disorder: Specified With Catatonia

Severity is rated by a quantitative assessment of the main symptoms of psychosis, which include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, abnormal psychomotor behavior, and negative symptoms, in the last 7 days on a 5-point scale ranging from 0 (not present) to 4 (present and severe).
