Secure Private Property Rights as a Condition for Capitalist Dynamism
Secure and reliably enforced private property rights are a foundational economic condition for a dynamic capitalist economy. When individuals and firms can trust that they will retain the returns from their investments and innovations, without fear of arbitrary expropriation or unpredictable seizure, they are incentivized to take the risks necessary for capital investment, entrepreneurship, and long-term productive activity. Without this security, resources are more likely to be diverted toward protecting existing assets or extracting short-term gains rather than creating new economic value.
