Similarities and differences between schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia

Both disorders share certain symptoms and treatments. Schizoaffective disorder has a mood element (such as mania/depression) in addition to psychosis, while patients with schizophrenia only show psychosis symptoms. Some scientists believe that schizoaffective disorder is a more intense version of schizophrenia. Commonly shared symptoms between these two disorders are hallucinations (hearing/seeing things that are not real) and delusions (believing incorrect values despite evidence to prove otherwise).
