Simplifying d4d5d2d^4 \cdot d^5 \cdot d^2 by Extending the Product Property

The Product Property for Exponents can be extended to products involving more than two factors that share the same base. To simplify d4d5d2d^4 \cdot d^5 \cdot d^2, observe that all three factors have the same base dd, so add all three exponents together in a single step:

d4d5d2=d4+5+2=d11d^4 \cdot d^5 \cdot d^2 = d^{4+5+2} = d^{11}

The result is d11d^{11}. Whether two, three, or more powers of the same base are multiplied, the procedure is the same: keep the base and sum all the exponents.
