Social Cost in the Robot Factory Scenario

The social cost in the robot factory scenario is the total cost to society of producing robots. It is calculated by adding the factory's private costs (labor, materials, etc.) to the external costs imposed on the nurses (disrupted sleep). The factory's failure to consider this full social cost leads to overproduction.
