Solution 1: Encouraging Effort Regulation

The results indicate that encouraging effort regulation could help online students procrastinate less. One way to do this would be to do peer modeling, in which students observe others do tasks, try to imitate what they did, and then compare. This would allow students to facilitate self-regulation. This is crucial in an online learning environment in which students are expected to manage their learning. Other things that could help to diminish procrastination would be to minimize distractions, create strict deadlines, and sequence tasks appropriately.
