Spiritual Illumination and the Morning Draught in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 46, Poem 10)

In Poem 10 of Chapter 46 in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, the motif of Sabuh (the morning draught) is used to illustrate the necessity of divine illumination. While the cupbearer unseals the wine at dawn, the speaker's true morning and the resolution of his inner state depend entirely on the appearance of the Beloved's sun-like face. This demonstrates that physical dawn and material wine are insufficient for true awakening without the spiritual presence of the Beloved.
