Streptococcus pyogenes as a Causative Agent of Glomerulonephritis
Streptococcus pyogenes infection can cause Glomerulonephritis even thought it does not directly infect the glomerulus in the kidneys. Long-lasting S. pyogenes skin or throat infections can cause the glomeruli to become inflamed due to antigens caused by S. pyogenes.
