Black women's access to reproductive health care was impacted by residential location and income. Pre-dominantly Black neighborhoods lacked health care facilities causing black women to have to commute out of their neighborhoods to receive care. Also a lack of insurance and the quality of the insurance correlated with forgoing care.

Structural racism impacted Black women utilizing reproductive health care services through limitation on what services were covered by insurance or offered for free. Black women without insurance reported having to try to find free services available.

Structural Racism greatly impacted Black women’s view of the standard of care they received. It was reported that Black women’s race and SES had a negative impact on their experience. Black women reported that public hospitals provided comparatively worse care then private hospitals.

Racial Prejudice can systematically influence maternal access to quality healthcare services and also have the potential to negatively impact fetal health as a chronic stressor

There is a lack of research focusing on how racism impacts Black women's utilization of reproductive healthcare services. Black women have higher rates of unplanned pregnancy, STDs, and abortion than white women. Due to these disparities, Racism needs to be studied as a possible factor exacerbating these differences.

Policies that broaden the services covered through insurance and placed more resources in pre-dominantly black neighborhoods could prove affective.
