Studies of Aerosolized SARS‐CoV‐2 particles

Although limited and restricted to medical and laboratory settings, there are some studies that have shown that the aerosol form of SARS‐CoV‐2 can linger in the air and travel long distances. For example, a hospital study found that in the patient rooms where Covid-19 patients were being treated and in nearby hallways, viral RNA can be found in the air. A similar result was found in front of the hospital entrance in another study. A laboratory study found that aerosolized SARS‐CoV‐2 can remain viable for at least three hours.
